PostgreSQL is the optimal choice for your use case. It provides excellent JSON support for flexible schemas, strong ACID compliance for data integrity, and superior performance for complex queries compared to MySQL. The active community and extensive documentation make it ideal for a growing startup.
PROS
- •Excellent JSON support for flexible schemas
- •Strong ACID compliance for data integrity
- •Superior performance for complex queries
CONS
- •Slightly steeper learning curve than MySQL
- •Requires more configuration for optimal performance
- •Larger memory footprint than MySQL

Magic Wand Feature (Pro)
The Magic Wand allows you to generate individual fields using AI, progressively building your decision. Fill fields from top to bottom, and use the Magic Wand button next to each field to generate content based on previous fields.
Manual Entry with Magic Wand ✨
✨ Fill the Question field above, then use Magic Wand to generate this field
How Magic Wand Works
- • Fill fields progressively from top to bottom
- • Each field can be generated using previous fields as context
- • AI generates content that matches your existing input
- • Available for Pro plan users
Best Practices
- • Write clear, concise titles that describe the decision
- • Include enough context so someone reading 6 months later understands why
- • Document alternatives even if they seem obvious
- • Update status as decisions progress
- • Use consistent tags across similar decisions
Organizing with Projects
What are Projects?
Projects help you organize decisions by team, product, or area. Think of them as folders for your decisions.
Example: Create projects like "Backend API", "Frontend App", "Mobile App", or "Infrastructure"
Creating a Project
- Click + New Project from the Projects page
- Enter a name (3-50 characters)
- Choose a color to visually distinguish it
- Optionally add an emoji icon (2 characters max)
- Click Create Project
Example:

Project List
Your projects are displayed in a grid view with their icons, colors, and decision counts.
